With the rapid development of society and the increasing intensity of infrastructure construction, as a representative of large-scale modern intelligent industrial machinery, aerial work platforms are increasingly coming into our view. Aerial work platforms, due to their safety, stability and efficiency, are regarded as important construction equipment in multiple fields such as new projects, maintenance of high-altitude facilities and municipal transportation. How can one determine whether an aerial work platform is good or bad? If I want to purchase or lease, which brand should I choose?
You need to consider the following three aspects of issues:
1. Functional safety (Standard certification guarantee
When purchasing a piece of equipment, the first thing to consider is safety. Each piece of equipment claims that its product is qualified when it leaves the factory. However, as industrial machinery, in addition to the factory certificate of conformity, there should be strict standards to enhance safety guarantees. At present, the global standard certifications for aerial work platforms mainly include: European standard CE, American standard ANSI and Chinese standard GB. Therefore, before you purchase equipment, you can consult the supplier to see if the purchased equipment complies with CE, ANSI or national standards.
2. Quality stability
Every mature product must have been tested in the market. A brand that has been on the market for many years naturally has its corresponding reputation.
At this point, you can also refer to the brands and models used by the equipment rental company. The equipment used for leasing will be exposed to relatively harsh working environments, and the quality stability of the equipment is required to be very high. Therefore, the equipment used by leasing companies must be of reliable quality.
If you are at the construction site, you can also ask the operator. Especially in large construction sites where multiple high-altitude operation brands are working together, the answers you get will be more instructive.
3. Cost performance
Cost performance involves many factors, including price, performance efficiency, maintenance costs, failure rate and retention rate, etc. Specifically, the price will affect the cash flow and cost recovery cycle of the purchasing party.
Performance efficiency affects the value of use. In the same working environment, when using different brands, the work efficiency can sometimes vary greatly. Indicators such as climbing performance, battery life, and carrying capacity are all specific considerations for performance efficiency.
Maintenance costs need to be comprehensively considered. On the one hand, the capital investment and the cost of delayed construction period corresponding to the failure rate should be taken into account. On the other hand, the price of spare parts and the delivery time of spare parts should also be considered. Overall, domestic brands have a slight edge in this regard.
The significance of the retention rate lies in that in certain circumstances, the aerial work platform will be regarded as an asset in circulation, and at this time, the residual value of the equipment is also a relatively important part of the cost performance. Brands with a high market share are more likely to find buyers.
